Faux Italian Sausage Pasta - Elevate Meal Serves 5 Ingredients: 2 packs Beyond Meat Hot Italian Sausage 16 oz box of Ziti 15 oz Bertolli Mushroom Alfredo 1 can Diced Fire Roasted Tomatoes 1/2 red bell pepper 1/2 green bell pepper 1 small yellow onion 1 cup sliced portobello mushrooms 1/8 cup garlic butter (I use Chef Shamy) 1 tsp minced garlic 1/2 tsp of garlic powder 1/2 tblsp Chef Gone Mad Cajun Seasoning 1 tsp Chef Gone Mad Smoked Garlic and Herb Olive Oil Cooking Spray
1. Chop bell peppers, onion and mushrooms. Set aside
2. Spray grated skillet with olive oil cooking spray. 3. Turn on to medium high heat. 4. Once the skillet is hot, pan sear Italian Sausage, about 4 minutes each side on high heat. Set aside 5. Boil Ziti until almost done. Drain and set aside 6. Heat Garlic butter over medium heat in a Dutch Oven and sautée minced garlic and chop veggies. Don't let the garlic burn! 7. Add can of diced tomatoes (juice included. I use the no salt added can) 8. Add jar of Bertolli's sauce 9. Season with Cajun, Smoked Garlic and Garlic powder 10.Turn the heat down to low and let simmer 11. Slice 6 Italian sausages (you can do more but I don't like to overcrowd the pot. 6 seems to work fine and then I just use the other two as a snack on a different day!) 12. Add sliced sausage to the sauce. Stir and continue to let simmer for about 5 minutes. 13. Add enough of the boiled pasta to not overcrowd the pot. (I DO NOT use all of the 16 oz of boiled pasta. I probably leave 1 cup in the pot for later use on a different day) 14. Continue to let simmer so sauce is infused into the pasta. About 5 minutes, you don't want your pasta to turn to mush! Serve with Parmesean. Enjoy!
